  1. it really doesn't help us at all because some of the time when your testing and get to a question that u don't even know and you have ever even learned it what are u supposed to do guess on it to see you get it right what. most of the time the test are just a waste of time sometimes students don't even try they just guess to get through the test faster and get done with it.

    1. I agree. there are a lot of people out there who when they see a test they freeze and forget everything they have learned.

  4. I believe they should no longer have standardization testing because many people dont even try on them they just click on any answer and keep going the few who do remember everything dont always show

  5. This is bologna, it does not matter what race you are or what your income is. If you are Latino, or African American you can also be smart. I honestly take offence from these statements, I assure there are Asians that are not good at tests and "whites". It is all about the effort kids put into their tests and school work. Maybe instead of looking at the race of the students they should concentrate on giving more attention to the students who are in need.

    1. That was very well said race shouldn't be an issue when speaking of standardized tests. Someone's race has nothing to do with test taking skills, and some pretty circumstantial research isn't going to change that. Standardized test should be abolished, but not on the basis of race.

  6. Standardized testing is a terrible thing for education. We need more freedom to learn, not more restrictions and ways to fail. We need an educational revamp.

  9. Thats REDICULAS!! the first half of the artical was telling us how racist tests are because black and latinos are doing porly but most black and latinos have had quite the history of gangs and not caring on school! People are crazy and theres such a crazy witch hunt for political corectness that were know condeming inatimate objects as reacist!!! and the other thing how else is the government going to judge what your learning!without the test the teachers could just sit there and do nothing

  11. The standardized testing is bologna. They are not helping with anything and the stuff that we have to learn to take those tests will not help us take the important tests like the ACT. We should be learning things for the important tests, not the pointless ones that only show us where we are in standings with other schools.

  12. I believe that the tests should be thrown out, but they should much much shorter in length. Instead of 200 questions I think they should drop it to just 50 and call it good.

  13. I have test anxiety and I just want to get the tests over with andmost of them time I fail them anyways so whats the point

  14. they don't talk on here as to how exactly the tests 'favor' rich white kids. I'd like to know why that is and possibly alleviate that problem if it really is standardized testing that is really the problem. Maybe the problem here lies with the values of the differences of cultures between rich white and Latinos or poorer whites. If one sub culture here doesn't value education as much as the next then it goes to show that they will obviously not do as well. The underlying problem is the importance education has at home.

  15. Tests are totally a waste of time... The kids don't want to take them and teachers don't want to correct them so why give them to us? We should only do homework and projects then call it good and base by them if the kid passes or not

  16. Test don't help us at all. I feel like im really under pressure when we have to take a test because i dont really ever know anything thats on the test and it just doesn't help me at all.

  17. Standardized testing is a way to tell if the teachers are doing there jobs. which a test isn't a accurate way of showing that either.
