  1. It is unfair that women get penalized for having children and men get rewarded. But many people do think that children distract women and focus men. It does all relate back to the idea that men are supposed to support families and women are supposed to stay home and care for families. It is not right, but it takes a long time to change how people think. I believe this will be a prevalent issue for many years to come.

  2. I don't understand how having a child affects how well you do your job or how hard you work. If anything, it should show you that women are responsible because not only do they have a family to take care of, but they also have a job they need to be a part of. On the other hand, just because a man has a child, doesn't mean he's not going to be "flaky".

  3. I don't think that women should have a lower chance of getting a job just because they have a family. I believe that men and women should have an equal chance for a job. Having a child should show that u are ready to take on more responsibility as a father or mother.

  4. i think women shouldnt be paid less for having a child and the same goes for men shouldnt make more, youre still the same person with the same qualities with or without a kid.

  5. A number of year ago when a female teacher was pregnant and needed time off to have her baby, they were asked to resign from their teaching position here at this school district.

  6. The only thing this goes to is how a company thinks how well someone can do their job. When women become pregnant there are a lot of hormones so they dont work as efficiently, and when it comes time to deliver the baby they have maternal leave. And there is the thought ingrained in our minds that men are hard workers and women are caregivers. So even if women work harder than men, companies have their mindset that men work harder than women.

  7. I don't think women should get paid less if they have a family. Most of the time you probably couldn't tell if they have a kid or not by their work, unless they say anything. Same thing goes for guys so i don't get why having kids or not should affect how much they get paid.
