I believe its finally time college athletes get paid. I don't get why its such a big deal if they get paid they work just as hard or harder then other any of the other students.
Why have them attend classes? lets just hire the best athlete money can buy to represent the university. Lets throw thousands of $$ at 18 year old's, only good can come from that!!
This situation is no different than child movie stars. If an 18 year old man want to make money playing college sports let them. Nobody says anything to the inventor that skips a college education and makes millions.
why should they get paid? the point of college is to get an education and pay for that education. if you play sports and are good at it enough to go to the pros that's just a bonus if they get paid in college you could just as well pay highschool students to play sports.
I do not think college athletes should be paid. They are going to college to get an education, their sport is just an extracurricular activity. For example, let's say a guy is really good at football and he gets a full ride to a big college and makes it to the NFL, but he does not get a degree in that process. Yes, he will make millions playing for his team but what happens if his plan on becoming a big time NFL player falls through? Then he has no education to make a living. Yes, he could go back to college and get an education. My point is, if you dont become as famous as you think and you don't have an education, how are you going to find good employment to support your family.
Colleges athletes should not get paid it's their choice if they want to play sports during college. It's extracurricular. Pretty soon they are going to pa high school athletes.
I believe student athletes should be paid to a certain extent because they need to live and get by. I mean seriously you can not work and be a student athlete. You need money for what your doing and especially if the school is making money off of you.
If you expect to get paid in college ball you should be good enough to already of gotten a scholarship for your education anyways. I mean sure extra cash would be nice but where would the college get that money from to be paying all of their athletes with than.
they created scholorships and financial aid for reasons like that they do not deserve to get paid. you are there for and education not sports and if you are there for sports you should be good enough to get a full ride and if you cant get a full ride i guess you should tried harder in your younger years
Most of those athletes got into collage using athletic scholarships and you would think that if you have an athletic scholarship that you get to be in the sport and get a good tuition for a lot less than most people pay. If I were them I would look at how I am saving money as getting paid already

ReplyDeleteIt's good that they're getting paid. They don't have time to get a job so they cant buy food for their dorm or apartment like other students.
