I think that the new requirements are a good thing. I think that having more hours and more detailed log of what people have done behind the wheel is beneficial for new drivers. Hopefully these requirements lead to less accidents
You obviously can't rid the world of stupid but it should still have an impact on the number of accidents occurring. Especially for the younger generation.
Personally, I'm glad that I didn't have to do so many hours but I think its a good thing that we are doing it because of all the teens who drive recklessly or carelessly. Hopefully it will help decrease the number of accidents in today's teens and our future's adults.
Will practice really stop teens from driving recklessly? A few extra hours behind the wheel will stop kids from drinking and driving or texting and driving or just driving distracted? I don't think so.
i think that this will help alot, practicing driving is really the only way to "improve" your driving skills. having more hours behind the wheel also gives you more confidence when driving by yourself for the first time
It makes sense to me because some people that get their drivers license are horrible drivers i honestly dont know who would have passed them. So this i think is going to be good because practice does make perfect its just like sports.
but you could act like a good driver one second and be stupid and run someone off the road the next, responsibly and maturity also play a big role in how good of a driver you will be
Practice may improve some skills, like stopping at stop signs and placing your hands correctly on the wheel but it will not stop reckless driving. Also behind the wheel hours are expensive so this will cause a strain on some families to provide the hours.
I personally passed with perfect scores and I didn't have to take the classes, yet I see people who have failed it several times but still driving a motor vehicle everyday. I also don't see a point in making the parent take a class because they drive the way their parents drive and that just passes on a habit of bad driving no matter what, so honestly this will not help lower accident rates unless we were to take a annual drivers test to get the proper way of driving stuck in our heads.
I feel this is a step in the right direction. Some drivers that get there license I don't feel that they are ready for it, but this would help.
