Person of the Year

Time just came out with their "Person of the Year." They chose the "Ebola Fighters", do you agree or Disagree on their choice? Why or why not? The criteria for person of the year: The person or persons that has had the most influence or impact on the news.

  1. I think that, according to this criteria, "Ebola Fighters" would be a good choice, due to the fact that its was constantly in the news and had a large influence on it. If the criteria were different, I don't think Ebola Fighters would be on the list

  2. I dont think its a good choice because in my opinion its their fault that they got that either they werent careful enough at their job such as the nurse that got it or they arent very sanitary.Although ebola is a dealthy disease but so is cancer. They could have picked other people to be the "person of the year"

    1. The reason why they got the person of the year is not because they had ebola and trying to survive, but because they were helping people who had ebola, which meant they could get ebola too. I do not see people catching a contagious cancer.

  3. I feel that the Ebola fighters are deserving because they ran the risk of getting ebola as well.

  4. I don't think it's a good idea because if they have a family and they get it, they won't be able to see their families.

    2. It's called being kind. They helped because they needed it. If you had a contagious disease, would you want to be left alone to suffer so no one had to risk catching what you have? They're nurses and doctors. They chose their profession because they like helping people in need. It's selfish to think like that when they needed help.

  7. According to the criteria I think the ebola fighters are the rightful winners. If there was different criteria I don't know that I would think of them as being the winners.

  8. I agree that Ebola fighters are a good choice given that Ebola was a big topic all over the world. If the criteria was different I don't think they would have been chosen as the winners.

  9. I completely agree they have fought hard and long for the cure. They also had suffered a major risk of death, which not a lot of people do.
