  1. Well... That seems like a situation that could be most easily avoided and dealt with if the parents sat down with the child and clearly explained to the child that the way the were thinking was wrong. It the parents did this it would help the child out, sparing them from problems and struggles that would happen later in life for sure.

  2. How can a child TRULY know they are transgender? I do believe that people are born homosexual (or however it should be said) but a first grader? I understood the part that said as soon as she could express herself she was a girl. I also see a lot of little boys play dress up in their sisters cloths? are they transgender? no

  3. I dont think you could be transgender at the age of 1. every kid plays dress up in girls or boys cloths to act like some character in a book or movie beacaus they got a crush on them.

    2. I agree with Larry. Every kid does play dress up in girls or boys clothes to act like some character in a book or movie because they have a crush on them. So very true.

  4. I completely agree with larry! I dressed up in boy clothes when i was little because i liked playing football and riding sled. But yet i dressed up in my mom's heals and loved getting my hair and makeup done. People dress in opposite sex's clothings for halloween does that make them transgendered? no!

  5. This is a very confusing article, I also don't understand how they can consider Coy a transgender child, maybe the child is just like other kids and like to dress or act both ways. I feel like they are maybe encouraging her to be a girl?

  6. This is a very odd article and issue. How do they know that this child is transgender at such a young age? This sounds like an issue that the parents should be taking care of. I think there is a little bit of overreacting going on also.

    1. I agree with what you are saying. I know when I was young I used to love wearing dresses. This certainly does not mean I am currently transgender, or that I ever was. Young children simply like to put on odd clothes.

  7. I think the kid has right to be what he/she wishes an no one should say anything.

  8. I feel awful for this child. Growing up as a transgender would be humiliating. Especially at this age, children would probably be relentless with their taunts.

  9. i dont really care if the girls transgender if the school tells them they cant use the girls bathroom... stop using the girls bathroom.. its not that hard, people now a days are just looking for reasons to sue! and shes 3 years old in a few years she will probabbly figure her stuff out! its just stupid how people get so easily offended. and what ever happend to the greater good! it may be a minor inconvenice for her but it will help the greater good of the school
