  4. I believe to be an American you need to have goals and dreams. That's exactly what our immigrants came to America to achieve, some type of goal or dream or to simply make a better living. I think that goals and dreams are the basis of many american things. Americans are always striving to make things better or more efficient.

  6. Living the "American Dream" means you have a sense of freedom. Whether it's freedom of speech, or religon or any other freedom.

  7. To be American is the same as being British, German, or Chinese. Recognition that you are from America is the basest form of American, but its more than that. Being American is celebrating the various pastimes and traditions that we hold dear.

  14. I think that to be an American, you have to abide by the laws of the U.S.A., be the vbest American you can be, love and honor your country, and to protect your rights as an American.

  30. there is not one thing in particular that makes a person American. If you like football, hot dogs, and the American flag you're pretty American though.
