I thought this was veyr interesting and I also think it is a good thing that schools are using resources like facebook and twitter and others to help student and to inform student because I think it will make the students more interested because technology relates to our generation so the students will become more "into" school
I think that Facebook is a good way for teachers and students to communicate outside of the classroom, especially because we're all on Facebook every day. Its point falls flat though if the teacher forgets to update the page, like the article mentions.
I like using social media in the classroom to enhance learning and discussion but I can see some issues coming up while using them. Who is responsible for the content, who would be liable if problems occur like bulling for example?
I think everyone involved is liable. The adults will be blamed if anything bad happens but I think if bullying occurs, it's the bullies fault, same as in real life.
I think if bullying became a problem the teacher should be liable. The teacher is responsible if a student is bullied in their classroom, and I think the same should hold true for the online aspects of the class.
I think that social media is a good idea if it is used correctly. Like with anything else it can be used for the wrong purposes and thats when problems start.
I think integrating technology into classrooms for students of this new digital age would probably help them learn. Older people who grew up listening to Led Zep, or Pink Floyd had nothing else to learn off of other then books when as of know we have more technologically advanced tools like a iPad, Nooks, Extreme PC's and much more. But this idea could be a problem for some of the more poor schools since cost would be an issue.
i think that technology takes a big role in life today, everything is becoming more advanced and i think it is a great thing to learn about because it can help you in the long run.
I found this interesting and i think its great that teachers are using resources such as twitter and facebook
ReplyDeleteI agree, our generation is so based on social networking that anything we can do to use it & benefit is is great.

DeleteI found this pretty neat. It can be a useful tool for teachers "outside of the classroom", not during.

ReplyDeleteUsing social media within the classroom is a very good idea, until it becomes abused.
