  1. I think that the fact that a lot of black people are going to jail is not gonna help their family to don't go to jail. their children are gonna grow in a bad environment and maybe get depressed and go in do bad things after that.

  2. I think like the man in the video said that there are or should be so many different options for these people to go to. I don't think that we should be locking up everybody. I think the only people that we lock up are the ones that are not worthy to be out in society, but I think that if some of these people can get help they should be able to go to these places instead of sitting in jails/prisons.

  3. Why don't you just make more prisons or lower the number of years a person is in. Or have a way for felons to have certain restrictions like not to leave a specific location such as your house.

    1. Building more prisons will cost taxpayers more money!! The point of the article and video is that the USA imprisons more of its population that any other country in the world.

  4. I think that if you belong in jail or prison than you should be there. If a mentally ill person is in jail they should not be there, they are mentally incapable for they actions to a certain extent. They should be put in a facility where they can receive treatment and the medication they need. Not everyone who commits a crime should be automatically thrown in jail which is what we are doing. Put these people where they should be, not just throw in jail because we don't want to have to deal with them.

  5. I believe that if you commit the crime you do the time. If a mentally ill person kills someone they should be put in prison with max security and not in a mental house with minimum security.

    1. What is the appropriate amount of time for each crime? I thinks the problem is we are incarcerating to many people for peaty crimes which as a result is causing the overcrowding of our court systems and prisons.
