  1. I get why she would do this to keep her job, but I don't get why she didn't tell them she didn't want to turn her back on her heritage.

  2. i think your look or your race shouldnt effect you getting hired or fired from a job. heritage shouldnt matter. only the quality of work you do should

  3. I can't believe they told her that. I don't think she should have got the surgery just to keep her job.

    1. But i dont think very many women had jobs like that back 20 years ago. So i think she thought that she was lucky to even get the job so she was going to do whatever she had to to keep it.

    2. I guess that's a good point but if she wanted to stick with her heritage she shouldn't have done it.

    4. society is a joke. the government controls us without actually telling us what to do.

  5. I can see back then how they could get away with telling her she is "too Chinese" but now you would never be able to not hire someone because of their race.

    1. It still happens, they just give it a different reason.

  6. I think a lot of people feel pressure to fit in and sometimes it can be unbearable. I would find a different job if i had to change my looks just to work their.

  7. I think she did think she was lucky so she decided to change herself just for a job. I think it would have been easier just trying for another job.

  8. It's sad as to what people will do just to get a job for TV. If I was her I would've quit my job and found somewhere else where they don't go for looks but instead their personality and the actual hard work.
