I think it would be wise to have privacy.....to a point. What i mean by this is that the government should be allowed to look at most things, but not all of them. For instance, I would be O.k. with the government checking my e-mail, but when it comes to online history or text messages, the line is drawn.
I think it would be okay if they read on social media and emails but not asking us where are we going how long will that take and reading our texts that's where I draw the line because if the higher up people can see it maybe the terrorist can see it to and then we might become a target. Or give them an idea somewhere to destroy.
I feel like as Americans we should be able to have privacy, but I feel like it should be privacy to an extent! I feel that they should use there intelligence to find the people that they know they need to find and tap into there conversations, text messages, and internet life! I feel like if they have no reason to watch somebody they shouldn't be watching them. If they sit there and try and watch everybody then people will be able to sneak through the cracks. I think that anybody that they think is an immediate danger to the U.S. they should be watching. I feel like we should help out the other countries also so we can protect our own but help other countries as well. I feel like if there would have been possible reason to start watching these people that did the Paris Attacks they could have possibly stopped them before they did the harm they did or they could have possibly minimized the harm that happened.
I am in all in favor loosing a little privacy and gaining security but this article is contained with allot of what ifs. What if they use another algorithm? what if they start to unlock the back doors? These are important concepts to look at when deciding what you favor in. In this case i appose this idea until they make a more secure plan.
