In my opinion it is a good thing that the government is taking steps to limit this illegal mass surveillance of the people they are supposed to represent. It is also nice to see them agree on something.
I believe that the program should be shut down due to privacy issues. Terrorist organizations could be using other methods of communication that are out of the NSA's reach. Besides, how do we know how effective the program is? My personal privacy should not be sacrificed over a program that might not even be very effective.
In my opinion all the Republican Party is trying to do is better there political status. It would take a tremendous political effort to undo the NSA. All they will get for there efforts is a pat on the back.
It should be shut down. There are way to many ways to get around the system. And there obviously not a good criminal if you can not get around the system. Its not doing the job and they need to find a different method.
