The Sexy Lie: A TED Talk

3 comments:

  1. The objectification of humanity has been done for many years and was never just about women, but just because it did not start with them does mean that it is not a prevalent issue and it should be dismissed. Which is why women should feel more comfortable with themselves and not underestimate there value or the value of there children's behavior because they are role models to more than there daughters, but to every woman that is not brave enough to stand against sexual objectification.

    1. It's not like they choose to be uncomfortable, it's the TV, magazines, movies, that are telling these women what they need to be. It will never go away, women will always be seen as less than men. That's the way it has always been, as long as men are the majority in power this will never change. Objectifying women are how companies make money, saying "If you buy this makeup and follow these 4 simple steps, you too could look just like (insert famous celebrity)" But what they're really saying is " Buy our stuff and believe all this shit will help you" Then after you buy all that, they make new stuff for you to buy.

  2. I strongly agree with both comments. Even young women growing up cannot wait till they can wear makeup. They believe they need to alter themselves to someone else's standards.
