Make a list of all the things you like and dislike about ACGC High School. Include things like facilities, classes, classrooms, how the school is organized, interactions with students and teaches with out naming names and so on.

I really enjoy spring fling and homecoming we have a very creative student council the flaming torch and the whole snow week a couple of years ago was very impressive

I like the people for the most part in this school. I like all my classes. I get along with most of the students, I guess high school is all about how you make it, well for anything in life I guess. If you go into something with a crappy attitude or that everyone is out to get you or everyone is automatically going to hate you. I think certain vibes come off to people as well. Like I can tell when someone is hostile so I then don't really try to make conversation. I think the thing I don't like the most though is like it seems like teachers are now all of a sudden supposed to 'crack down' on certain rules that have been in effect all year, or even years past. Yes, I get that now some of the younger kids are following in our footsteps. But seniors should have the privilege to sit in the fishbowl and stuff like that. We're out of here in 2 months and now all of a sudden we're kind of on a restraint. It sucks.

ReplyDeleteDislikes: I CANNOT STAND it when staff members turn a blind eye to their "favorites" whenever they do something bad, they only give them a little slap on the wrist, but when someone else were to do something, they would get in a lot of trouble, their partents would be called and they would have to miss out on athletics for a certain amount of time.
I also dislike how some teachers don't really "teach" the subject and just expect you to know it.
Another dislike is the cutting of important classes, i.e. Human anatomy. I understand that money is sometimes an issue. BUT when more and more people are going into a health field occupation, human anatomy is a class you NEED to take.
I like: the theater, football field, coffee shop, media center, teachers who don't play favorites, our 4-day week, the fishbowl, we get out in May

DeleteActive and healthy is what gym is for electives actually matter a couple of years down the road no one at a workplace is going to care if you were in highschool sports other then to think of you as some person who cant let high school go, it isnt right that others education should suffer because somebody wants to play catch, make it all fund raising cash not taken out of the community fund. I would like more electives rather then a sports letter. And the values that offical sports, teach can be found elswhere such as gym class or sports outside of school if you wish to play sports there are plenty of Opportunitys outside of school.

i like that we are a close nit school and everyone knows everyone and we all get along pretty good for the most part. what i dont like is how little our lunch servings are sometimes but otherwise i like it. and PDA is a little rediculous too.

i think these teachers that dont "teach" you chemistry is a false statement. i think the teachers are trying to help you as much as possible so your ready for college. i think you just need to get used to it and try and understand things, you should try teaching yourself once and if you dont understand ask questions thats what a lot of people do and its working so you should think before you say something like that.
DeleteThings I dislike this could take sometime but: for starters most of the teachers!!!! And the stupid heating system our school doesn’t have. The lunches mainly the lines and how the teachers who don’t need smart boards have them yet the teachers who should really have them aren’t even given a chance. Teachers have their favorites and they big names in our school get everything they want yet if you don’t have a fancy name them you just get treated like Trash!!! Things i like …… … some of the people, that we get we get a longer summer then most schools sucks that our school is never closed. I remember walking to school all bundled up in the middle of dead winter when every other school is closed and we’re the only school that is open. I would have purple hands and be as stiff as a rock

Safe, as in there aren't any gangs or serious fighting going on
It's small so it's a lot more personal and everybody knows everybody
Dislikes:
Testing
Amount of homework (specifically for elementary students)
Lack of certain sports (hockey, soccer, tennis)
Because of the small size of ACGC, sometimes classes get too laid back (Teacher's talk about their personal lives without their stories to applying to what the class is learning about(I'm not always against this but sometimes it's too much))
Favoritism (again, this is because of the small school thing)
Lack of a serious policy against PDA (I'm not against hand-holding, but there is a line)
I think our school is nice because of the small amount of people its kinda like a small town where everyone knows everyone. Everyone is friends and so on and its easier to get help from teachers when they don't have to worry about having 200 kids to teach to. But some con's of our school is that as years pass and the recession slowing dives deeper our funds for classes, sports, food, and just recreational activities in general are diminishing. I was looking in my yearbooks from like 7th and 8th grade and the prom stuff and mr. acgc activity had so much more put into them. I wish during the time I was here we could of had it that nice. :(

I can say that I like everything we have here at ACGC. Even though it may not be the best school out there. It has its own sense of individuality and I like that. Because honestly I'm sure there are schools way worse then ours. I can say that I have enjoyed my 12years of education at ACGC way more then the couple of dislikes. I'm gonna miss my teachers and fellow students. Due to being a small school, it's allowed us to connect better with each other and have better relationships. Thank You, ACGC. It's been fun.

I like our four day weeks. i dislike favorites but thats something that will never change with our school. I feel as though people who are good in sports get stuff handed to them by most teachers.
